Camp Counselors

Hosmer Point Camp in Craftsbury Common, Vermont is now hiring counselors for summer 2016!

Join us at our beautiful, lake-side camp for a one-of-a-kind summmer!  Together we'll provide one to six week residential camp programs for boys and girls age 9 to 15, and day camps for ages 5 - 8.  Our goal is to create a feeling of community, and send campers home filled with self-confidence and better equipped to lead positve change. 

Counselors live in cabins with eight to ten campers and one other adult.  Each counselor is also responsible for leading programming in a different area of camp.  We're looking for counselors with skills in the areas of:

  • Mountain Biking
  • Canoeing and Boating
  • Sculling
  • Swim Instruction
  • Farm Animals
  • Vegetable Gardening
  • Backpacking and Hiking
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Guitar
  • Tennis
  • Soccer
  • Golf
  • Cooking
  • Archery
  • Teaching Preschool and Kindergarten Age Children

We offer competitive pay and time off, as well as delicious and healthy food.  Counselors must be at least 18 years old and have completed highschool or equivalent.  Must be available June 11 - August 13.

Camp Counselor/Program Specialist

DATES: June 15 to August 11. Residential camp position includes ROOM AND BOARD.

YWCA Camp Hochelaga is a non-profit summer camp for girls, located on the shores of Lake Champlain in South Hero, Vermont.  We are looking for a female adult to supervise campers in activities and in their cabin areas in a manner consistent with and supportive of the YWCA of Vermont’s Camp Hochelaga philosophy of creating opportunities for women’s growth and leadership. Camp activity focuses on nature, drama, arts/crafts, waterfront activities, and landsports, and leadership.

Duties include: To lead by example, guide campers in all aspects of camp life and activities, communicate with other activity leaders, write weekly lesson plans with the help of the program head before teaching and leading classes, and supervise assigned campers in all aspects of their day including morning reveille, cabin clean up, meal times, rest hour, bed time, activities or classes and other on duty times.

Desired Qualifications: Good character, enthusiasm, and adaptability, experience with children and young adults preferably in an outdoor camp setting, and current CPR and FA certifications.
